TAG TOURS / A Taste of Nice Tours run a number of top ranked tours in Nice and on the French Riviera:
Working as a tour guide is a demanding but highly rewarding job. In fact, it’s more of a passion than a job as you have to consistently provide high quality tours and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. In return, you get to spend a lot of time with people from all over the world with a variety of backgrounds. And remember – the vast majority of people coming on tour are in a good mood, as it’s their holiday. Your job is to help turning their holiday into magic!

- You speak English proficiently (minimum level: C1) and you are used to interacting professionally with an Anglo/Saxon and international crowd

Nice-to-haves

Bike Tour Guide
Our Nice Cycle Tour takes guests to the Old Town, the Promenade des Anglais, Place Massena, Place Garibaldi and up the Castle Hill. It’s the best introduction to the city of Nice. Ideally if guests do the tour on their first day in Nice, we can set them up for the rest of their holidays.
A good Cycle Tour guide knows how to ride a bike, has elementary bike maintenance skills, is a good storyteller, easily connects with people and has a winning smile.

Food Tour Guide
On our A Taste of Nice Food Tours, which is a walking tour, guests taste and drink themselves through the unique gastronomy of Nice, which is neither French nor Italian but uniquely in-between!
The ideal Food Tour guide has extensive knowledge of food and wine, is a great storyteller, easily connects with people and has a winning smile.

eBike Tour Guide
For guests that want to go further afield, we offer a selection of French Riviera eBike tours. Going to Villefranche, St Jean Cap Ferrat, or the Bellet area, we use bikes with electrical assistance (eBikes) to cover the extra distance and climbing with great ease.
As an eBike guide, you need to be comfortable riding a bike for a long time, have extensive bike maintenance skills, great autonomy and the ability to improvise when problems arise, be a good storyteller and have a winning smile.

Recruitment and training process
Step 1 Application

Step 2 Initial phone call
We call all candidates considered for an audition for a quick informal chat.
Step 3 Interview & audition
The audition consists of a face-to-face interview (exceptionally we can organise a Skype video conference if meeting in person is impracticable). For this interview, we ask you to prepare a story that will keep us entertained for five minutes. It could be on any topic as long as it’s engaging and keeps us hooked!
Step 4 Coming along on a tour
After the interview, we may ask you to come along on one of our tours. This is to give you the opportunity to experience a typical tour and to ensure that you have a good understanding of what working for us entails.
Step 5 Additional interviews & tests
Depending on the position applied for, we may test your bike riding and bike maintenance skills and other relevant skills.
We will also call your referees to get a better understanding of your personality and background.
Step 6 Training program
We offer paid training of approx 10-20 hrs, depending on which tours we are training you for, plus we expect you to do significant self study. The elapsed time from when you start your training until you start doing tours with fully paid clients is typically 2-4 weeks.
Step 7 Quality assurance and continuous training
Your training doesn’t stop there! A director will come on your tours regularly to help you improve your presentation and storytelling skills as well as group management and safety aspects. You are expected to continue to learn throughout your employment with us!

Internship at an international tour company
We offer internships for students of International Tourism and Management and related subjects. Join our multinational and diverse team for a unique insight into a small but dynamic international tour company!
We offer tours by foot and by bicycle in Nice and its surroundings. Our clients are from all over the world. We offer tours in English, Dutch, Swedish and French. Many of our tours have a focus on gastronomy and wine.
The internship exposes you to all aspects of the tour business including guiding tours (if you want), front and back office work, and you’ll have extensive interaction with customers and travel agents.
There are also specific projects in these areas:
- IT systems (scheduling and administration)
- Expand our network of incoming travel agents/Destination Management Companies (DMCs)
- Boost international marketing and improve our websites

Conditions
- There will be an internship contract between you, TAG TOURS, and the university
- The internship can be part time or full time, up to a maximum of 6 months/924 hrs
- The internship can start from 1 April 2020 onwards but the start date is flexible.
